Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine for Cancer

By August 4, 2016November 28th, 2018No Comments

Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine are not used for the primary treatment of cancer in the United States.  But, these healing modalities are excellent for the treatment of the side effects of cancer and cancer treatments such as chemotherapy, radiation and/or surgery.

Common side effects of cancer or cancer treatment may include pain, fatigue, loss of appetite, nausea, anxiety, depression or difficulty sleeping.  In addition, the immune system may be compromised resulting in frequent illness (such as cough, colds, pneumonia).

Cancer treatment can be very hard on the body, and just knowing you have cancer can be stressful.  Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine can provide you with the relief your need to help your body heal and recover.

Make sure you receive acupuncture from a fully licensed and credentialed acupuncturist.  You can check the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine web site to be sure you practitioner has the highest credentials.  Some will have certification in acupuncture only.  Others will have certification in Oriental Medicine which includes both Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine.

Ann and Emily are both licensed to practice in the state of Arizona, and have the highest certification available in Oriental Medicine.
