Does Acupuncture Hurt?

By June 14, 2016May 3rd, 2017No Comments

This is often one of the first questions we are asked when a patient contemplates treatment

with Acupuncture.  Acupuncture after all does use needles to generate a healing response.

If only people knew in advance that acupuncture needles are so tiny and cute!!  They are as thin as a hair and nothing like the needles used by doctors for injections or blood draws.  We even treat children, who once they experience their first acupuncture needle realize we are not going to hurt them.

So it is not surprising to feel some apprehension at your first acupuncture treatment, most people do.  After your first treatment, you will feel comfortable and as is often is our experience, will fall asleep during the treatment.  And don’t worry if you snore, we love it!!

For those of you who have had acupuncture before and who experienced some level of discomfort, We encourage you to make an appointment with us.  Most often if there is discomfort, it is not the needle, but rather the style and/or the training of the practitioner.  We have LOTs of experience and understand how to place needles that are effective and comfortable.

So make an appointment, and experience custom healing with no side effects; and no pain.
